ILC

ILC is an Italian company founded in 1965.
The company manufactures a very comprehensive range of centralised grease and oil lubricating systems. These range from small systems covering just a few lube points to systems lubricating hundreds of points. Included in the product range are unique systems for specific applications.

They specialise in the manufacture of heavy duty centralised grease lubricating systems and chain lubricating systems for Earthmoving and Agricultural Machinery. Chassis Lube Systems

Chassis lube systems are designed to automatically lubricate the grease points on a chassis using a small amount often to always provide grease to prevent friction and wear. This saves on component replacement costs, labour costs to manually grease and greatly improves vehicle efficiency.

There are basically two types of Chassis Lube Systems.

1. Progressive systems that can pump up to a grade 2 thickness of grease and monitor for blockages in the grease dividers and piping. They are normally driven by an electric pump 12 or 24 vdc.

2. Single line systems that pump a "soft grease" to a grade 0 thickness. These systems can only monitor the pressure in the main supply line. These systems are normally driven by air operated pumps.

Generally lube equipment companies sell only one type of system

There are pro’s and con’s in terms of performance, type of grease used, system monitoring, price and so on for these systems.

Petromatic

Single Point Grease Lubricator - Refillable

The Petromatic 104 is an automatic single point grease lubricator that has the advantage of being refillable with most greases. Grease capacity is 80cc. It has a see-through Lexan dome which allows the grease level to be checked. The Petromatic works by a compression spring of which there is a choice of 3, Red - light, Silver - medium and Blue - heavy. These act upon the internal grease piston to maintain a continuous balanced pressure on the grease as it gradually moves through the tapered flow channel helped by the internal bearing suction.

The Petromatic only delivers grease when needed and only when the bearing is in operation preventing under or over greasing.

Applications - Plummer block bearings,plain bearings, anti-friction bearings, on all types of industrial and agricultural machinery
